Miller Property Field Trip

SORRY - Now fully subscribed.

The field trip committee is happy to announce that on October 4th we will be collecting at the Miller Property near Eaganville ON.

The property owner has agreed to bring his excavator on site on the third of October to drive deeper into the woods south of the present clearing to access the newly discovered vein dikes and the Amazonite pegmatite.

Their will be a cost to all collectors to compensate Mr. Miller for this work. He charges $100 an hour and we expect that the work will be at least 5 hours.

We have invited the Kawartha Club to join us because we need to assure enough participation to make this trip economically viable.

So if you want to join us please contact Jim Haase.

Walker & YTMC Picnic

Come join us for a picnic in the park. We are joining the Young Toronto Mineral Club (YTMC) members for a meal and mineral collecting activities. Try a "Whats It" for grown-ups. Enjoy some mini-talks given by seasoned WMC members. Enjoy the energy from the kids!

The event is a pot-luck with WMC/YTMC supplying hamburgers, veggieburgers, hotdogs and soft drinks.

Please email contact@YTMC.org by Wednesday June 11th with your plans to attend, how many are in your party, and what you will bring for the pot luck. Some suggestions: salads, sushi, sandwiches, noodles, samosas, dessert squares, butter tarts (with raisins of course),  cookies, etc. We are planning for up to 180 attendees.

Other activities include awarding the Walker Club's Dr. Mandarino award to a deserving YTMC member and the YTMC makes a number of participation awards to their members.

We have a permit for a large covered area "Area A", near the main parking lot so don't let rain scare you off. There are washrooms nearby.
